La Illa do Covo acoge este sábado la jornada de clausura de la última edición del festival Surfing the Lérez.
El evento musical, que echó a andar en el año 2011, se despide de la programación local tras casi quince años de trayectoria.
Su primer día de conciertos de esta edición estuvo marcado por las altas temperaturas con termómetros que superaron los 30 grados dejando una sensación de bochorno, que se mantendrá también durante este sábado.
Una de las estrellas de la primera jornada fue el artista 9Louro en el escenario Vibra Mahou, una de las actuaciones programadas en la franja nocturna junto a las de Grande Amore, Galician Army o Freedonia.
El público asistente volvió a moverse por las diferentes áreas distribuidas por la Illa das Esculturas.
Los directos de la última jornada del festival comienzan a mediodía y se distribuyen a través de cuatro puntos de descarga musical:

Escenario Sala Karma: Abre a las 13:25 horas con Familia Caamagno, seguidos por la tarde por Dani Cornes, Niños Bravos y el grupo The Rapants, auténtico fenómeno musical en Galicia, antes del cierre a cargo de Estrogenuinas en la madrugada.

Escenario Vibra Mahou: Mantiene actividad continuada desde las 12:30 horas con La Gloria, Nadie Patín, Cora Yako, Colectivo Da Silva, Camellos y la sesión de Señora DJ.

Escenario El Chato: Concentra las actuaciones vespertinas de Balteira, Alizza y Mad Foxes, terminando a medianoche con Portosanto.

Escenario Romería Club: Dedicado íntegramente a las sesiones de música mezclada por pinchadiscos como Eme DJ, La Yaya DJ, Carlos Crespo, Kris K DJ, Duendeneta Dilleis, Yago Rivas, Nida y Gorlitox.
Marcos Rivas, promotor del festival, comunicó que la presente edición de 2026 marca el final definitivo de esta cita para público familiar debido al incremento de los costes económicos de la producción y a motivos de conciliación familiar, descartando la continuidad de la gratuidad del evento en los términos actuales. Señaló que la falta de apoyo por parte de la Xunta de Galicia y de la Deputación han sido fundamentales en esta decisión.
Ante este anuncio, Luis López, presidente de la Deputación de Pontevedra, ha trasladado en las últimas horas su intención de mantener un encuentro con los responsables de la organización para analizar la situación y estudiar posibles vías alternativas para intentar mantener este evento ya convertido en un evento referencial en Pontevedra.
